Celebrates Fifth Anniversary
With 80 Galleries From 13 Countries

The Toronto International Art Fair, Canada's premier fair for international art, celebrates its fifth anniversary with Art Toronto 2004, September 30 to October 4, 2004 at the Metro Convention Centre, 255 Front Street West, Toronto, Canada. 80 galleries from 13 countries will show and sell a vibrant mix of leading edge modern and contemporary works by established artists and rising stars.

A jewel of the international art scene and Canada's premier art fair, the Toronto International Art Fair has made its mark with innovative programming for both beginning collectors and seasoned professionals. Special exhibits this year include: News at Five: a series of daily shows curated by Canadian Art Editor Richard Rhodes, Berlin Constructions: an installation that address the emergent practices in the work of Berlin-based contemporary German and International artists since the fall of the Berlin Wall and One Man Show: a series of installations by some of Canada's leading contemporary artists.

Running concurrently with the fair will be a series of lively panel discussions to feature such topics as Art and Commerce with Holt Renfrew/Selfridges & Co. marketing personality Alannah Weston and MOMA Miami Director Bonnie Clearwater, The International Art Scene led by some of Europe's leading curators and Collecting Art featuring a panel of major international collectors.

Art Toronto 2004 launches on Thursday September 30, 6:30 to 10:00 pm, with the Opening Night Preview, a benefit for the Art Gallery of Ontario. This is an opportunity to see and purchase art work before the Fair opens to the public. Tickets are $175. A new feature of this year's Opening Night is the Exclusive Collectors' Red Ticket Preview, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm; tickets are $275 for this advance viewing.
