The Toronto International Art Fair and The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery present Power Talks 2006, a lively, engaging and informative series of talks by prominent figures from the international art world. This year's speakers' series considers two interrelated themes - Institutional Futures for Contemporary Art and The Collector as Curator - and features such art luminaries as Yuko Hasegawa, Claudia Beck, Hedwig Fijen, Wilhelm Schuermann and Catherine de Zegher.

Focusing on topics ranging from contemporary curatorial issues to collecting and the business of art, the Power Talks 2006 program sets out to introduce and examine the changing interface between public and private, and canvas possible future models for the public presentation and interpretation of contemporary art.

Power Talks 2006 is organized in partnership with The Power Plant Contemporary Art and developed by Gregory Burke, Director of The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, for the Toronto International Art Fair.

Power Talks 2006 is a fundraiser to support The Power Plant, Canada's foremost non-collecting contemporary art gallery.
